Jisel Furniture, a product of international level

The Jisel brand arrives for the first time at the XXI edition of the Iberoamerican International Crafts Fair Iberoarte-2023 in Holguin.  In a dialogue for Radio Ángulo digital the young Cuban businesswoman, Jisel Sánchez Pérez, told us about her productions of excellent finishing exposed in the gardens of ExpoHolguín.

What is the essence of Jisel’s offers?

“We have brought furniture with raw materials imported from Spain, which are designed and made in the country from frames brought from Italy with cherry wood in various light and medium tones and teak tree.”

What materials do you use to face Cuba’s tropical climate?

“It is an Italian fabric that withstands the Caribbean climate. Foam is used, high quality Italian polyethylenes.”

How young what challenges do you face to achieve the productions?

“It’s a big job because you have to import it. If you have the raw material, the only thing left to do is to make them. It is a 100 percent Cuban production”.

How do the prices of furniture oscillate in the domestic market, according to their trends?

“A set of three pieces plus two, that is, a set costs around 90,000 Cuban pesos (CUP). It is not so high because I can import at quite low prices, and that is why they are marketed at a more affordable value in general”.

Are there any possibilities for the productions to reach Cuba’s hotels?

“Jisel for its high quality, aesthetics, completion in every detail of the frames of the cushions, the closing of the frame, durability and comfort for its softness can become furniture for hotels in the province of Holguin. With the possibility of being assembled in the region, after training and other production issues”.

Could the production chaining help Jisel, as a brand, to become an exportable item?

“It has a high potential to be an exportable ruble from Cuba to the world, without ceasing to be an attractive offer for the local customer, in general”.

What professional training have you received to achieve this?

“I had the opportunity of professional training and exchange in Alicante, Valencia and Madrid, in Spain, since my first projects. The contact with Spanish suppliers such as the businessman and consultant Sergio Obregón, allow me today to show a final product of international level verified its quality and produced in Cuba”.

Smiling, the young Jisel breaks barriers and gender canons from a novel furniture, which withstands the climate of Cuba rain and shine proof from the gardens of ExpoHolguín.
