Iberoarte International Crafts Fair opens in Holguin

The XXI edition of the International Crafts Fair Iberoarte 2023, sponsored by the Holguin branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods (FCBC), was officially inaugurated on Thursday at ExpoHolguin exhibition center, an event attended by more than 60 foreign exhibitors.

In his opening remarks, Manuel Hernandez Ramos, director of the FCBC in Holguin, thanked the efforts of all those who made possible the accomplishment of “this party of hugs where the people arrive and thank this cultural event of multitudinous convocation”.

Until next October 22, the program of this event includes exhibitions, contests, a business round, cultural presentations, among other activities, which aim at the exchange between local and foreign artisans, as well as the promotion of traditional craftsmanship.

On this occasion, Iberoarte is dedicated to Mexican crafts, recognized for a rich tradition that dates back to pre-Hispanic times.

Mexican artisans use ancestral techniques and materials to create unique and colorful pieces, which include a wide variety of products, such as ceramics, textiles, carved wood, blown glass and jewelry.

This edition of Iberoarte includes the expo-sale of a wide variety of handicrafts such as textiles, ceramics, jewelry, dolls, footwear, as well as other useful products for the home.

Once again, the Lote visual arts space will arrive as one of the collateral activities of this fair, with exhibitions at the Pernik Hotel and at Fausto Cristo Gallery of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and the Zaguán Gallery of the FCBC.
