The 13th edition of the National Youth Theater Festival ended this weekend in Holguin, with a broad program of activities under the auspices of the Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS) in Holguin and the Provincial Council for the Performing Arts, which was dedicated, on this occasion, to the direction and production of the current Cuban scene.
This yearly cultural event featured several plays performed by talented and promising young people in the country, including Teatro La Proa, from Havana; Alas Teatro and El juglar del cisne, from Pinar del Río; I Want Teatro, from Matanzas; Teatro Alas de Cuba, from Granma; and the Oral Narration Company Palabras al Viento, from Holguín.
The Comandante Eddy Suñol Theater was the stage for the presentation of plays of different genres and styles, ranging from classical theater to experimental one. There were also lectures and other events related to the art of the stage, where participants were able to broaden their knowledge and skills.
The main objective of the National Youth Theater Festival is to promote and encourage the development of this expression of the performing arts among young Cubans. In addition, it provides a space where emerging artists can showcase their work and receive recognition for their talent.
It constitutes an important platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences among young Cuban artists that attracts numerous spectators and contributes to the dissemination and promotion of young contemporary Cuban theater.
