A delegation from Holguin arrived in Biran on August 13th to honor Fidel Castro Ruz on the centennial of his birth. The birthplace of the Commander-in-Chief welcomed the memory of the leader and the undefeated fighter.
International solidarity arrived in Biran with brigades from Italy, Portugal, Chile, and Puerto Rico. The delegation included scholars of Fidel’s life and work and fighters for just causes from around the world.

Chilean Jacqueline Clark Bueno explained her motivation: “For my mother and me, it was very important to be in Cuba. It was our dream to come to the island because we felt very connected to Fidel’s struggle. To Che’s struggle, and to the dignity of the Cuban people.”
The occasion allowed a group of new members of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Union of Young Communists, and the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution to receive their Vanguard membership cards. This recognition distinguished their merits and overall achievements in their work.

The Fidel Centennial distinction was awarded to institutions in the province. Each honoree fulfilled their missions with boundless dedication.
Raúl Alejandro Chacón, one of the young people recognized, emphasized that they are the centennial generation. He recalled that that generation, led by Fidel, ensured that José Martí’s centennial was not forgotten. He added that today, in the current difficult situation, they are committed to ensuring that the undefeated Commander-in-Chief is not forgotten in his centennial year.
Fidel’s grandson, Fidel Antonio Castro Smirnov, joined the residents of Holguin for the commemoration and reaffirmed the continuity of the Cuban Revolution.
During his speech, he expressed that the child born in the early morning hours in that house is reborn today. In every Cuban doctor who crosses a border, in every teacher, and in every young person anywhere in the world who decides that ideas can also be an invincible force.

He added that all those present are children and grandchildren of Fidel and are not afraid. He maintained that the future bears his name, his vision, and his example, and that the present time is still Fidel’s time.
Also he spoke on behalf of the youth, the workers, the scientists of today. Those who solemnly swore an oath to the concept of Revolution, and those who carry Fidel in their hearts. In their blood, in their minds, and in the battles yet to be fought.
Finally, he declared: “Many of us have come from far and wide to shower you with affection, to celebrate with you, and to wish you a very happy birthday, dear father. A very happy birthday, dear grandfather; a very happy birthday, dear and, above all, Commander-in-Chief. Order that this generation of your centennial will never let you die.”
Biran demonstrated that Fidel does not belong to the past. His example sustains the conviction that the Cuban Revolution continues in the people. Also who reaffirm their commitment to the leader’s ideals.
