As part of the events commemorating the centennial of the Commander-in-Chief’s birth. The headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) in the province of Holguin hosted the opening of the photo exhibition “100 Years with Fidel.” A visual tribute to the legacy of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.
The exhibition, intended as a permanent display. It consists of seven large-format photographs and two posters that capture moments from the Commander’s visits and tours of the region. While also reflecting the close bond he maintained with the armed forces and their combatants.
During the opening ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Alexis Arcos Moyares, First Instructor of Political-Ideological Work for the Ministry of the Interior’s Political Organization in Holguin. He emphasized that the realization of this project reflects the commitment to keeping alive the example and unwavering principles bequeathed by the revolutionary leader. Transforming the headquarters into a space for consultation and learning about his life and work.
Moreover the compilation of the material involved multidisciplinary research and curatorial work. Carried out jointly by Arcos Moyares and Major Daniel Suárez Sera. For the selection of images, the creators benefited from the valuable contribution of Dr. Víctor Aguilera Nonell. Vice President of the Union of Historians in the province. Also who facilitated access to his personal collection of historical photographs. While the printing and graphic design process was handled by the Holguin Propaganda and Events Business Unit.
Regarding the significance of the work, Colonel Enrique Caballero Meneses, head of the Political Organization of the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) in the province. He praised the mystical undertones of each selected photograph. Caballero Meneses highlighted the technical editing and restoration work carried out by Major Suárez Sera to restore the archives to their original clarity. As well as Lieutenant Colonel Arcos’s organizational steadfastness in institutional coordination.
In the lead-up to the official opening of the exhibition. Colonel Yosbel Marañón González, head of the Minint in Holguin province, presented the “Faithful to His Legacy” award. To both officers in recognition of their dedication to preserving historical memory.
