Holguin’s farewell to delegations to 12th UJC Congress

The delegations from the provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo and Holguín, which will attend the 12th UJC Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC), to be held in Havana, were bid farewell this Monday afternoon together with members of the organization and local authorities.

Yilian Aldana La O, secretary of the UJC committee of Termoeléctrica Lidio Ramón Pérez, of Felton, in declarations to ACN, expressed her confidence in the exchange that will take place about the policy carried out in the country regarding children and adolescents.

She also commented on the immense expectations to develop opportunities for this population sector.

As representative of the province of Guantánamo, delegate Yanet Torres, stressed on the importance of the Congress to define agreements and new opportunities, it is a meeting where solutions to problems that concern us today will be proposed, because together we are more, she said.

Among the main aspirations we have are to be able to bring together young people from all over the country who defend various sectors with different ways of thinking within the social range that represents the largest of the Antilles, said Daniel Reyna, secretary of the UJC at the University of Oriente.

Moments before the departure, the delegation from Holguín was flagged off at José Martí Park in this city, by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and first secretary of the PCC in the province, where Manuel Hernández Aguilera, governor of Holguín, was also present, together with other political and government authorities.

The 12th Congress of the UJC, scheduled for April 2-4, will celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the organization by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz, and will be an ideal space to discuss the responsibility of youth in the present and future of the new generations.
