Governor of Holguín pays a working visit to Antilla

Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, Governor of the Cuban province of Holguín held an exchange with the Municipal Administration Council of Antilla and other entities invited to the meeting, in which social issues of the territory were assessed.

At first, the Governor focused his attention on teacher coverage, at 91 percent today, the unfavorable results in the recent Mathematics entrance exam and the need to diversify university studies at “Julio Antonio Mella” branch of the University of Holguin, in which at present only pedagogical specialties are taught there.

Later, the Governor urged to promote the Municipal Development Strategy, for which the use of science and the advice of the Technical Advisory Council, a consultative body of high hierarchy and transcendence in the entities is essential; in that sense, he called to promote new local development projects, since only four are in the process of approval.

Hernández Aguilera also called for a greater follow-up of the Mother and Child Care Program, to close 2023 with zero deaths, and urged to raise the quality of basic services, the computerization of society and the efficient fulfillment of the Food Sovereignty Plan, of which the production chains and the guarantee of honey and coal as exportable items are mandatory.

Antilla is the smallest municipality in the province of Holguin, however, it has a natural wealth that makes it a paradisiacal scenery, with emphasis on the peninsula of El Ramon, more than five kilometers of virgin beaches that will be one of the most complete tourist destinations in Cuba.
