MSMEs from Holguin Stand Out at Shanghai Trade Fair

Shanghai is currently hosting one of the world’s most influential trade showcases. The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE)—a venue where Cuban enterprises are seeking to expand their horizons well beyond the Caribbean.

Among the national pavilions—which, from November 5th to 10th, 2026, are bringing together over 4,000 entities from 162 countries. The productive sector of Holguin province has found an exceptional showcase to demonstrate its export potential to the Asian giant.

The Cuban delegation, organized into a national pavilion and a dedicated space for the BioCubaFarma group. Features the active participation of non-state economic actors. A reflection of the ongoing renewal of the country’s commercial model.

A standout in this effort is Olinés S.R.L., a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) in the agri-food sector. Specializing in the production of flour, corn snacks, and other related products. Its presence in Shanghai is the result of a rigorous selection process under the “Booster for the Internationalization of Cuban MSMEs” program. An initiative that has equipped 20 entities with the tools necessary to compete effectively in highly demanding international markets.

Alongside the agri-food contributions of Olinés, the business community from Holguin is also represented. By ventures such as Reyna Victoria SURL, a commercial firm. Focused on the production and marketing of meat products, food distribution, and freight transport logistics.

Both examples highlight the dynamism of an emerging sector committed to diversifying national exports. Forging strategic alliances across Asia, and demonstrating that local enterprises have the capacity to transcend borders. While meeting global standards for quality and competitiveness.
