Book “Da Isca a Philadelphia” presented in Holguin

The autobiographical book Da Isca a Philadelphia written by anthropologist and researcher Dr. Pasquale Nestico, president of Filitalia International, and one of the most prestigious cardiologists in the United States, was presented at the Ibero-American Congress of Thought as part of the activities of the XXIX Ibero-American Culture Festival held in Holguin.

Pascuale, during the presentation of the text, recounted his experiences upon arriving in this nation from Italy with his bricklayer father, and his desire to study. There he completed two university degrees, one of them in Medicine, which allowed him to serve his family: “I was my parents’ cardiologist. My father was a man of great discipline”.

He also referred to the importance of ethics in civic coexistence and the preservation of cultural traditions.

Pascuale thanked the Casa de Iberoamérica for the invitation that made possible his participation in this cultural event in Holguin, and asserted that Filitalia International’s mission is to preserve the Italian language and culture. “It is the service to others with humility, justice and honesty”.

For his part, Mr. Nicola Pirone, Vice President of Filitalia International, presented the Chapter of this non-profit organization in Holguin, and highlighted the collaboration of Cuban doctors in Calabria. “Cuba is a people that I love very much.”

“Today is a historic day. Cuba is a very beautiful island with many values. Culture is life. I thank the Casa de Iberoamerica for the support to create this Chapter,” expressed the also Italian journalist.
