President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said on Sunday that Cuba will defend its convictions and will not allow interferences in its domestic affairs at the 3rd Summit between the European Union (EU) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) to be held in Belgium.

Nor will we accept the singularization of our reality or that of any other Latin American and Caribbean country, stressed the president in this capital, regarding the bi-regional forum of heads of State and Government that will open here on Monday.

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of Belgian solidarity groups and political forces, and Cuban residents here, President Miguel Díaz-Canel pointed out that Cuba will attend the two-day summit with a positive and constructive position.

According to Díaz-Canel, Cuba will seek that the EU-Celac meeting leave results leading to the development of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples with European participation.

President Miguel Díaz-Canel asserted at a solidarity event that the Cuban Revolution will always emerge victorious from the challenges and shared with those present the concept of creative resistance.

In this regard, he added that Cuba has resisted the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States has imposed on it for more than 60 years, and at the same time it works on its development with its own talent and effort.
