Iran Blames the US for Israeli Attacks

Iran today blamed the United States for the recent Israeli attacks on its territory. And the consequences of the escalating military conflict in the Middle East.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated at a press conference in Tehran that Washington is responsible. For the Israeli “aggression” and the increased tensions in the region.

According to the diplomat, Israel does not undertake military actions without coordination with the United States. He noted that the US Central Command (CENTCOM) itself has acknowledged the existence of cooperation mechanisms between the two countries.

Baghaei rejected claims by US officials that they were unaware of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon. Maintained that there is a division of responsibilities between Washington and Tel Aviv.

He also accused the United States and Israel of repeatedly violating the existing ceasefire. Asserted that the events of the past 24 hours have increased the climate of mistrust.

The exchange of messages between the parties was already taking place in an atmosphere of deep mistrust. And the recent actions have further aggravated that situation, he stated.

Also the statements come after the Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut. Which left two dead and 11 wounded, according to Lebanese authorities. Israel claimed that the target was a Hezbollah command and planning center.

Following that operation, Iran launched several barrages of missiles into Israeli territory. While Tel Aviv subsequently announced airstrikes against military targets in western and central Iran. In a confrontation that, according to Israeli assessments, could last for several days.

Tehran and Washington have maintained a truce since April 8th. Following the conflict that began on February 28th between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Which, according to Iranian authorities, has caused more than 3,000 deaths.

Meanwhile, Israel continues military operations in Lebanon and its offensive in the Gaza Strip. In addition to actions in the West Bank, amid persistent tension in the region.
