Researchers at South Ural State University have developed and patented a mobile robotic workshop technology. That will reduce housing construction costs, the multinational channel TVBrics reported today.
According to the report, multi-story buildings can be constructed using prefabricated blocks created via the “descending concrete” method. Directly at the building site, an approach that could completely transform how social housing is built.
The high cost of monolithic construction and reliance on logistics are considered key issues in today’s real estate market. Scientists have found a way to resolve these problems while simultaneously accelerating the building process. The innovation is based on a unique method of layering reinforced concrete monolithic elements.
Unlike traditional pouring into a static structure, the scientists propose a dynamic process. A horizontal platform containing concrete descends along with a polymer film. While ultrasonic generators treat the construction joints, ensuring the structure’s monolithic integrity. The first layer reaches its required strength in just one hour.
According to the developers’ estimates, the technology allows for the erection of a 25-story building’s structure in 120 days while reducing construction costs.
Furthermore the “descending concrete” method is suitable not only for multi-story residential buildings. But also for underground complexes and infrastructure in the Far North, opening up possibilities for exporting the technology.
