Iran and the US Announce Agreement to Halt War

The United States and Iran announced an agreement for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon. The opening of a new phase of negotiations aimed at reaching a permanent settlement.

According to Iranian media reports, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that both sides reached a peace agreement. The official signing of which is scheduled for next Friday in Switzerland, after several weeks of diplomatic efforts and international mediation.

According to the Pakistani Prime Minister, the agreement establishes an immediate and permanent ceasefire in all areas of conflict. It includes further meetings between the parties to advance the implementation of the commitments made.

For its part, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed that it had finalized the memorandum of understanding regarding negotiations with Washington. Asserted that the agreement calls for an end to military operations. Including those on the Lebanese front, as well as the lifting of the naval blockade imposed on the Persian nation.

The body expressed its gratitude for the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar. To whose efforts it attributed the progress achieved in the talks.

Earlier, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi had announced that the text of the memorandum was finalized and would be signed in Geneva. Also further meetings between delegations from both countries would also take place to define the roadmap for future negotiations.

The diplomat explained that talks to reach a comprehensive agreement would begin within 60 days. He noted that Tehran would maintain monitoring mechanisms to verify compliance with the commitments made by Washington.
