More than 3,700 dead in Israeli offensive in Lebanon

The death toll from the Israeli offensive against Lebanon since March 2nd has risen to 3,756. While the number of wounded has reached 11,632, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.

According to the ministry, 45 deaths and 149 injuries were recorded in the last 48 hours. Increasing the casualty count compared to the previous report, which tallied 3,711 deaths and 11,483 injuries.

The Ministry specified that the cumulative total of victims reflects the impact of the continuous Israeli attacks on various areas of Lebanese territory.

Moreover the military escalation comes amid repeated accusations from Beirut of violations of the ceasefire in effect since April 17th. An agreement that was extended with US mediation until early July.

Lebanese authorities maintain that Israeli military operations are ongoing almost daily. There are affecting both border areas and other locations in the south of the country.

According to official reports, Israel maintains control of several territories in southern Lebanon. Some occupied for decades and others seized during the clashes between 2023 and 2024.

Likewise, Lebanese sources indicated that Israeli forces have advanced more than 10 kilometers into national territory during the current offensive. Constituting their largest incursion since the withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000.

Health authorities continue to update the casualty count as military operations and relief efforts for those affected continue.
