The second edition of the Holguin Businessmen‘s Forum (FOREMP2024) will be held from April 28 to May 2 at Brisas Guardalavaca Hotel, in order to strengthen alliances in the Cuban business system, and private actors, the latter in gradual evolution and recognition.
At a time when the national economy is being updated, spaces for learning and exchange are necessary, hence the University of Havana and the University of the University of Holguín, the Center for the Study of the Cuban Economy and the of the Cuban Economy and the National Institute of Economic Research.
MSc. Idania Ricardo Leal, coordinator of the Forum of Entrepreneurs and partner of AdAstra, a commercial company in Holguin, shared her expectations with Radio Angulo about her expectations about the event:
“FOREMP2024 will be the right space to create and develop business opportunities, sign letters of intent or agreements business opportunities, sign letters of intent or agreements, participate in business rounds, as well as business rounds, in addition to the seminars and conferences that will contribute to the professional capacity building. The Forum is a starting point to the Holguin and Cuban entrepreneurial system, because we have confirmed the participation of several companies from the rest of the country”.
Ricardo Leal emphasized that FOREMP2024 will have as guests important academics and economic and scholars of economics, including PhD. Juan Triana Cordoví, a professor at the Center for the Study of Cuban Economy, who will be in charge of the inaugural conference entitled “Economic reform, macroeconomic stabilization and productive stabilization and productive transformation”.
“We will also have the participation of university professors, PhDs from the University of Holguin and the delegate of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the province”, he said. “The objective is that they transmit us their academic experiences, to form capacities in the practices of the entrepreneurs”.
The exchanges with businessmen and entrepreneurs have characterized the stage prior to FOREMP2024.
The university professor also referred to FOREMP2024 as an inclusive event, as both as an inclusive event, since both consolidated businesses and small enterprises or projects entrepreneurs or projects can be inserted:
“The Forum is a space built by many hands, since there are several people involved, including, in a very special way, our gold sponsors Nihao53, DaSens S.U.R.L. and Havana Club. It is not an individual result. Anyone who is interested in promoting their own development, but at the same time contributing to the country’s economy, will have the the doors are open. Learning and contributing are the keys,” he concluded.
Some 100 participants have so far registered for the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, including national participants and foreigners; however, another 50 state and private companies have expressed state-owned and private companies have expressed interest.
