Holguin closes Satiricón 2024 humor festival

With the participation of artists from all over the country, the National Festival of Humor Satiricón 2024 was closed in Holguín, event dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the founding of Eddy Suñol Theater and the 30 years of the Centro of Humor Promotion.

From Raúl Camayd hall of the cultural complex to which this year’s edition was this Saturday comedians Kike Quiñones, Yuri Rojas, Professor Mentepollo, Capitán Díaz and the groups Caricare and Etcétera, delighted the audience with a show filled with pieces portraying everyday life, to then close one of the most ambitious editions of this event.

After 10 days of presentations with the participation of La Leña del Humor, Michel Pentón, Otto Ortiz and Telo, the program also included performances at Cine Martí and Casa de Iberoamérica, in order to provide access to the public, promote laughter and the best practices of this art in the current Cuban scene.

Comedians also visited Oscar Lucero Moya campus of the University of Holguin, where they gave free performances for students, while Eider Perez and Yasser Velazquez, both members of the host group Etcetera, gave a workshop on the peculiarities and fundamentals of the construction of plays and their impact on the public.

The traditional softball game of the Holguin press against the comedians took place at the Major General Calixto Garcia Stadium as part of the event and, more than a game, it became a show, where the score of 18×11 favored the journalists.

Considered the second most important event in the country after Havana’s Aquelarre, the National Satiricón Humor Festival, held annually in the city of Holguín, is the ideal moment to enjoy the talent of renowned artists from the largest of the Antilles.
