Holguin: Acuanipe towards food sovereignty by diversifying offers

The contribution of Acuanipe to food sovereignty of the territory through the diversification of its offers to the population monopolized the information interest this week that has just just ended in the province of Holguin.

The entity, located in the municipality of Mayarí, produces mortadella, sausages, croquettes and hamburgers, taking into account high quality and safety quality standards and food safety, with fish and chicken mince as the fundamental raw materials, said Osvaldo Pérez Duerto, general director of the company.

In addition, Acuanipe promotes the substitution of imports with the delivery of fish for medical diets, the export of Tenca hg and the sowing of fry in Nipe and Sabanilla dams, which, after 180 days, are the fundamental content in the manufacture of the assortments.

It was also reported that the Stomatology service in Holguín has a program for the benefit of risk groups, in spite of the limited supplies used in operations, extractions, fillings and other procedures.

Luis Orlando González Castro, deputy director of the General Directorate of Public Health, told ACN that among the beneficiaries are pregnant women, postpartum women and children with severe disabilities, especially those of school age.
