Cuban trade unionists visit Felton Thermoelectric Plant

Trade unionists of the Energy and Mines sector from different Cuban provinces exchanged this Friday with managers and workers of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Company, located in Felton, in the municipality of Mayarí, in Holguín province.

As part of a tour that includes visits to the main centers where workers affiliated to the union work, and in the context of the XXII congress of the organization, the trip allowed to know the priorities in the attention to the workers of that industry, the production efficiency of Block One and the steps for the rehabilitation process of Unit Two.

Raúl Peña Jiménez, secretary general of the Energy and Mines Workers Union in the province of Holguín, said that the tour of the thermal generation plant was a recognition to the workers who work there.

Ayenis Avila Feria, member of the national secretariat of the union of this sector, highlighted the importance of the meeting, in order to help to encourage those who guarantee a good part of the electric energy consumed by Cubans.

Also, this Friday, more than 20 workers of the Felton Thermoelectric Plant were recognized with the Ñico López distinction, granted by the National Union of Energy and Mines Workers, for having 20 or 25 years of sustained work in this industry.

The event took place in the context of the 28th anniversary of the first synchronization of Block One of the aforementioned company, an event that gave rise to a fair review of recognition to those who contributed to its development.
