A group of workers of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic and the People’s Provincial Court of Holguin received recognitions today, in connection with the activities for the 50th anniversary of those organs, to be commemorated next December 23.
During the cultural gala, decorations and awards for 10 years of service were given to Yailén Rojas Rodríguez, Arlenis Acosta Martínez, Evaniuska Batista Navarro and Bexi Arias Rosell, with an outstanding career.
Also awarded were workers with 15, 20, 30, 30, 35 and 40 years of experience in the sector, including Lilibeth Hernández Fonseca, Aida María López Yero, Olivia Freeman Martínez, Ángel Torres Reynaldo, Dania Pérez Fernández and Andrea Pérez Ricardo.
Yeysis González Escalona, vice-president of the People’s Provincial Court of Holguín, said that the celebration promotes effectiveness and transparency in the administration of justice in accordance with the Cuban social system.
She stated that the commitment of these bodies is with the people, through a constitutional mandate respected by judges, secretaries and all the personnel representing them.
As part of the celebrations, the 23rd of August distinctions were also awarded to Kenia Aguirre Ulloa, chief prosecutor of the province and the Enrique Hart Dávalos to a group of comrades in recognition of their constant work for more than 20 years and an exemplary and consistent attitude with ethics and revolutionary principles.
The celebration was attended by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in the province; Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, governor of Holguín, among other political, governmental and sector authorities.
The process of organization of the country’s judicial system took place in 1973, when the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Cuba integrated an independent organ of the nation’s courts, granting it the power of observance of legality, both in the citizenship and in the state entities.
The date chosen for its creation was December 23, in honor of the birthday of Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz, an outstanding jurisprudent and Major General of the Cuban Liberation Army.
