The municipality of Cacocum, although it was not the area where the greatest volume of rains fell in previous days, its inhabitants were seriously affected in different areas by floods, in addition to causing the loss of several hectares of crops, thus today, works point at water drainage.
The rains flooded the entrance of the village of Cacocum, and the settlements of La Agraria and Peralta due to the flooding of Holguín river and the overflowing of AZCUBA canals; which damaged agriculture in more than 31 hectares of various crops.
The community of Alta Gracia is seeing now the drainage of water accumulated due to heavy rains; in this very plain municipality several volumes of rain were repor0ted, like 75 millimeters of rainfall in the town of Cristino Naranjo, 82 millimeters in Cayo Cedro and 103 millimeters in Cuatro rural areas, respectively.

In fact eleven districts were affected, where 233 houses and 568 people were hit, some of them evacuated to the homes of relatives and friends.

There were 75 millimeters of rainfall in the town of Cristino Naranjo, 82 millimeters in Cayo Cedro and 103 millimeters in Cuatro rural areas, respectively.
Eleven districts were affected, where 233 houses and 568 people were hit, some of them evacuated to the homes of relatives and friends.
Agriculture was damaged in more than 31 hectares of various crops.

The community of Alta Gracia, populated by some 198 people, was damaged by the flooding of the Colorado River, which affected three factories and cut off the community from the rest of Cacocum municipality, due to the collapse of the access roads, which made it impossible for material resources to enter.
Currently, the Government and the Municipal Risk Reduction Management Center are undertaking actions to facilitate the drainage of the waters, and as part of the recovery, the rapid response to the damage caused by the heavy rains in the section of the railway in the community of La Agraria stands out.
The Eastern region of Cuba was affected by a trough that caused recent heavy rains due to a huge rainstorm.
