Holguin Inotu promotes actions for urban organization

The National Institute of Territorial Ordering and Urban Planning (Inotu) in the province of Holguin is promoting a wide-ranging program to promote the organization of urban areas, as part of the proposals of the Millennium Development Goals.

Among the main activities, which will be carried out until next October 31, stand out contests for children’s participation, master lectures, solid waste collection, reforestation actions, among other initiatives to promote urbanism and the promotion of cities with resilient economies.

César Patterson Rodríguez, delegate of the sector in the province, stressed to ACN that this day, called Urban October, also includes the expansion of training on areas with special regulations, concentrated in the municipalities of Banes, Gibara and Rafael Freyre and inserted in the tourism expansion programs.

He emphasized that the reforestation of Loma de la Cruz, symbol of Holguín, is also prioritized through the planting of species typical of that area and other environmental education actions in coordination with the forestry companies of the territory.

The Inotu, the director pointed out, is linked to government programs aimed at facilitating procedures for the population, among them, requesting housing, urban planning regulations, updating property titles and payment of land.
