Gibara International Film Festival, slated for the first to the fifth of August, put forward details of this event in its 17th edition, to take place at Jibá movie-theater, the event’s headquarters, as announce by the Organizing Committee.
The panel of the Gibara International Film Festival, led by the director of the event: Sergio Benvenuto Solás, together with Yaquelín Tapia, director of the Provincial Film Center and Josué García, producer of that center.
After several intense days of work with the different cultural and governmental institutions, they officially presented the particularities of the year’s edition of Gibara International Film Festival.
The space was propitious to comment on some of the activities to be present in this 17th edition. They said that this time the program will be similar to last year’s event, but will include a night technological cinema in Plaza de la Cultura and for all peopole.
For his part Garcia went over the musical groups that will perform at 2023 Gibara International Film Festival.
He informed that for the opening of the event have been chosen Toque del Rio, the young troubadours J Barrio and Barbería who will pay a tribute to the Nueva Trova movement.
Also, he said, will be Figaro Jazz Club will on the jazz performances, along with musicians who play this genre. However, the program for the closing of the event is still pending.
Tapia stood out that La Colmenita children company will come to Gibara for the first time, to especially perfom in the neighborhoods and in Calixto Garcia Square; she also talked about the traditional encounter between personalities of the festival and the communities in order to share with the people of Gibara.
As usual, the theatrical presentations will take place in the afternoons at the Casa de Cultura Raúl Roa García, which will be announced on July 18th, when the program of activities of this festival will be published on social networks, as details are still being finalized in terms of programming, presence of guest artists and jury present.
