The Holguín First Symposium on Social Sciences and Arts will take place during the comings days of July 13 and 14 in the nicknamed Cuban City of the Parks. The event is organized by Conciencia Ediciones editing house of the University of Holguín and the Provincial Upgrading Center for Culture.
Rosa Estévez Villafruela the principal of the center, explained that event Provincial Upgrading Center for Culture comes from a claim by the Culture Trade Union, its institutions and companies to open a space for socialization among academics, students, creators and art managers that are working for guarantying a sustainable development of culture from the study and use of science.
The also president of the organizing committee of Holguín First Symposium on Social Sciences and Arts said this event is inspired on the 170 anniversary of José Martí and the life and work of outstanding local professor and researcher Rigoberto Segreo Ricardo.
This year’s event is focused on the community work, artistic and literary promotion, professional upgrading and management of cultural processes and patrimony.
All these topics will be presented thru nearly 40 works by delegates attending the event either on-line or in person, coming from the universities of Havana, Las Villas, Las Tunas and Oriente, a university from China and researches from Holguin province who have much to say in this space which promises to be much more that an academic meeting to share knowledge.
As the Provincial Upgrading Center for Culture is bound to the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Holguin, all the papers to be presented in the event Holguín First Symposium on Social Sciences and Arts boast of a high scientific rigor. / Aniel Santiesteban García.
