From May 15 to 19, the postgraduate course on Health Education and Pharmacotherapy of Cardiovascular Diseases took place in the province of Holguin, which was given by the professors of the University of Oriente, Dr.C. Maraelys Morales and Ms.C Rosario Megret, which made possible the exchange of scientific experiences with pharmacists of Holguin.
According to information provided by the head of the Pharmaceutical Services section of the Provincial Health Directorate, Mariagni Fernández Suárez, “in addition to the postgraduate course, there was a profitable exchange of experiences between the outstanding educators and the health professionals of the territor with graduates and employers.
Concerning the graduates, there was a need to evaluate the results of their work performance and how they put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired during the student stage, in the academy.
The work was also linked to teaching by establishing work projects and lines of research that will strengthen the links between academia and business.
From the point of view of employers, representatives of the Provincial Health Directorate, Emcomed, the Provincial Company of Pharmacies and Opticians (FARMOX) and the Labiofam Company participated.
Within the lines of work designed for the student, through the health policies, the training demand of the Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences is made, who has a preliminary placement, in response to the needs of the province’s vacancies”.
In this way, since the student starts his career of pharmacists and attends the work practice, he is shaping his thesis project for the undergraduate graduation.
It is wise that early on, from the third year, the student is already linked to what will be his job of pharmacists either in a pharmacy, assistance unit or in Emcomed or Labiofam, in order to include potential employers of this specialty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
