Pasquale Nestico met with Holguin doctors

Dr. Pasquale Nestico, president of the Filitalia International organization, as part of the program of his visit to Holguin for the 29th edition of the Ibero-American Culture Festival, held a professional exchange with specialists of the Pediatric Cardiology Service in the province.

During the meeting, at the Casa de Iberoamérica, Holguin doctors showed experiences in the medical-surgical procedure in minors, detailed by Dr. Roberto Hidalgo Pupo, Chief of the Provincial Pediatric Cardiology Service, who expressed to this digital site the satisfaction of being able to exchange knowledge with the eminent Italian American cardiologist.

He also added that they agreed on a next meeting in the year 2024 to deepen in topics related to the Mediterranean diet.

Dr. Pasquale explained the origins of pacemakers in the United States and the difference in their use in Cuba. He also referred to the operation of hospitals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania state, and discussed his cardiology clinic and the techniques used in early diagnosis.

Holguin doctors referred to the Healthy Heart campaign, which aims at early detection of risk factors associated with cardiovascular diseases, with special emphasis on mountainous areas and places of difficult access.

Other topics discussed included strategies for the care of pregnant adolescents and the prevention of early motherhood.
