Natural and Traditional Medicine and the training work of resident physicians in Imaging at the University of Medical Sciences of Holguin are subjects of doctoral theses, which make significant scientific contributions that benefit the quality of the Provincial Health System.

Natural and Traditional Medicine, internationally qualified as alternative, bioenergetic and complementary, received a deep scientific look thanks to the doctoral thesis of the physician Mayelín Cruz Batista, who delved into this important discipline from the training point of view, as in happened at the University of Medical Sciences of Holguin.

The research dealt with the formation of labor competencies in residents of Natural and Traditional Medicine and provided a novel training method. The idea is that the resident physician integrates, in his teaching, assistance and research functions, the principles of conventional and traditional medicine to achieve a better quality of life for the patient.

Likewise, this method allows for a higher level of satisfaction in the treatments and therapeutic schemes and protocols introduced in the training process of these resident physicians.With information from Radio Reloj and the University of Havana.

On the other hand with the thesis on “The work training of resident doctors in Imaging”, the specialist of First and Second Degrees in General Comprehensive Medicine José Cabrales Fuentes not only became the first Doctor in Sciences among the physicians in the field of Imaging in Holguin, but also contributed lights to consolidate the work of future specialists.

The worker of the Lucía Iñiguez Surgical Clinical Hospital, in this eastern Cuban territory, affirms that the scientific text re-dimensioned the way of seeing the formative process of this specialty.

It also bets on seeing medical assistance within the specialty closely linked to several qualities that are achieved through work training.

The research, which has obtained different awards in national scientific events, fulfills the objective of socializing a pedagogical strategy for labor training in residents of the medical specialty dedicated to diagnostic imaging; and it offers a path that reinforces a virtue of the Cuban Health System: that of propitiating early on from the academy the formation of values.
