In the province of Holguin, a new Board of Directors of the Chapter of the Cuban Society of Pediatrics, directly linked to the care of children, was constituted in Holguin province.
Dr. Anelia Rojas Perez, a specialist in Pediatrics, a second degree specialist in Pediatrics and assistant professor was elected as President of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Rojas Perez works at the Teaching Department of the Pediatric Hospital Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja,
On the occasion, a well-deserved recognition was also given to the former president of this Chapter for many years, Dr. René Núñez Inza, who due to his experience will be from now on Permanent Advisor of the Board of Directors.
Other members selected as part of the Governing Board of the chapter were Dr. Yanexy Pérez González, as vice-president, and as members Dr. Mayelín Navarro, Dr. Aracelis Hernández García, Dr. Georgina Velázquez, Dr. Yaima Aguilera and Dr. Yanma Benimelis and Dr. Daniel Huben Castellanos and Dr. Rolman Fernández.
Thus, the new Board of Directors of the Holguin Chapter of Pediatrics is made up of both young and experienced professionals, an element that can be considered a strength for the activities to be carried out in the next period.
This chapter is part of the Provincial Council of Scientific Health Societies and its national counterpart, the latter affiliated to the Latin American Association of Pediatrics (ALAPE) and the International Pediatric Association (IPA).
It is in charge of research and academic activities related to this specialty, in order to achieve the development of its members and the scientific exchange with the purpose of assisting the health of children and adolescents.
