The Travel Agency in Holguin announced a reorganization of routes and priorities for interprovincial transportation. In response to high demand during the summer season and limited capacity.
Yami Ledea Obregón, the agency’s administrator and a member of the commission responsible for evaluating travel requests. She explained that there are currently three weekly departures on the Holguin-Havana route. With departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:00 pm.
Regarding the Moa-Havana route, she specified that it operates once a week. Previously, it departed on Thursdays, but starting next week, it will depart on Saturdays.
Regarding the criteria for assigning tickets, Ledea Obregón explained that two priority levels have been established. The first group includes medical appointments, hospital discharges, deaths of immediate family members (parents, children, or siblings). Participation in high-level events related to organizations such as Public Health and Education, and the return to their home provinces of people stranded in Holguin or Havana.
The second priority includes cases related to flight connections, visa procedures, and embassy appointments. As well as situations involving inmates and sailors who require transportation for work or personal reasons.
Moreover the source indicated that residents of other provinces who are in Havana should go to the designated offices in each municipality of the capital. To arrange their return, presenting the corresponding documentation.
In Holguin, the public assistance office is located at the former Santiago-Havana agency. And is staffed by representatives from the transportation sector and the local government. Public service is available daily from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Finally, she clarified that transportation prices remain unchanged: the bus fare to Havana is 220 pesos.
Rail service, meanwhile, continues under the supervision of the commission, with a schedule every 16 days. The next departure is scheduled for July 17th at 3:20 pm, local time.
