Historical Research to be Awarded in Holguin

In the centennial year of the Cuban Revolution’s historic leader, Fidel Castro Ruz. The project “The Memory That Saves” and the Holguin Provincial Historical Archive will award prizes next July. To the best works submitted to the “67 Years of Holguin History” Contest. Sponsored by the Cultural Assets Fund and the economic partners MPM Frenas conmigo, Limpidus SURL, and Familia Trasluc.

This second history contest, open to all Cubans. Whether residing in the country or abroad. It accepts works written by up to three authors, with no less than ten pages. Using Arial 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing. Submissions can be delivered in person to the Provincial Historical Archive. Located at 191 Maceo Street, between Cables and Ángel Guerra Streets, Holguin. Or sent digitally to vencarpu@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions is June 4th of this year.

The jury—comprised of Ventura Carballido Pupo, researcher, writer, communicator, and president of the renowned socio-cultural project. Mayra San Miguel Aguilar, historian, writer, editor, and editorial director of the Mezquita. And Humberto O. Leyva Oro, historical researcher and expert on military and defense issues. It will award the first three places with 20,000, 15,000, and 10,000 pesos, respectively. A work of art to the fourth place winner, as well as any honorable mentions they deem appropriate. Several organizations will present other well-deserved recognitions.
