Ministry of Higher Education Evaluates Preparations for the New Academic Year at the University of Holguin

A team from the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education (MES in the Spanish acronym) evaluated the preparations at the University of Holguin (UHo) for the new academic year in eastern Cuba.

The ministerial delegation, comprised of Vice Minister Reynaldo Velázquez and the Director of Training for the Ministry, Natalia Martínez. Met with administrators and professors from the university to discuss the main challenges and priorities of the academic calendar.

During the meeting, the Rector of UHo, Aniuska Ortiz, highlighted the active participation of students from other universities. In the activities of the Federation of University Students (FEU) throughout the country.

For his part, Vice-Rector Roberto Pérez detailed the measures implemented to guarantee comprehensive preparation for future professionals in their various study modalities.

During the exchange, David Lahera, an official from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC). He emphasized that the institution adjusts the development of its core processes to meet the specific needs of each student. With special attention to those residing in areas with limited internet access.

Likewise, Joel Queipo, First Secretary of the PCC in the province, acknowledged the valuable contribution of the Holguin faculty in training various social actors. Also with their ongoing support for the economic transformations of the region.

At the close of the evaluation, Vice-Minister Velázquez urged the strengthening of teacher training in the use of artificial intelligence applied to teaching. As one of the key strategies for raising the quality of higher education at the institution.
