In a recent meeting between the Governor of Holguin Province, Manuel Hernández Aguilera, and the Gibara Municipal Administration Council. A clear path was established for the future of this emblematic territory: its future is built from the ground up.
The meeting served to reaffirm the need to join forces around three fundamental pillars for the municipality’s growth.
Moreover the Governor emphasized that “autonomy” is not an abstract concept. But rather translates into “the capacity to decide intelligently and responsibly.” In this regard, it was stress that economic development must be the engine that generates wealth to transform realities. And that this transformation must “maintain the social aspect.” With the most sacred investment that encompasses health, education, culture, and the well-being of the people of Gibara.
During the meeting, specific issues shaping the municipality’s immediate agenda were also address. Among the topics discussed were the promotion of camping in Caletones. As well as the need to finalize details for the successful development of the Gibara International Film Festival and the Gibareño Ausente event. These events, which combine tradition, culture, and tourism development, are seen as strategic opportunities for local growth.
The central message of the meeting was that Gibara possesses the necessary potential to reconcile productive growth, innovation, and self-management. Always based on the premise that community involvement is essential. The ideas of strengthening local decision-making capacity and managing resources efficiently. Resonated as pillars of a project in which the municipality is position as the main actor shaping its own destiny.
