Holguin Ensures Transportation for Kidney Patients in Eco-Friendly Vehicles

A fleet of eco-friendly vehicles has been added to the Holguin province’s fleet. To ensure the vital daily transportation of patients requiring hemodialysis treatment at hospitals.

The fleet, acquired through the Financial Fund for Transportation Development. It consists of 20 vehicles assigned to Taxis Cuba to support the regular medical services provided by the local healthcare system.

This additional vehicle allows for the maintenance of a service highly vulnerable to fuel shortages and the wear and tear of older cars. Protecting the essential mobility of patients to Holguin’s healthcare facilities.

Upon verifying the vehicles’ deployment, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province, Joel Queipo Ruíz. Emphasized the social impact of the fleet on the care of these patients. Also who have always been protected amidst the difficult economic situation facing Cuba.

The healthcare system in Holguin guarantees care and treatment for the more than 200 patients who require hemodialysis at the five hospitals that provide this service in the province.
