Energy production from the 54 new photovoltaic solar parks was 2,112 MWh. With 200 MW as the maximum power delivered during off-peak hours from this generation source.
During the early hours of Friday, the process of restoring the National Electric System continued. With interconnection now in place from Pinar del Rio to Holguin. The provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Granma, and Guantanamo are currently operating with isolated microsystems. Their reconnection to the National Electric System (SEN). It is expected with the commissioning of Unit 1 at the Felton Power Plant (CTE Felton).
At 6:30 a.m., the SEN’s available capacity was 1241 MW. With a demand of 2800 MW and 1565 MW affected. An estimated 1350 MW are expected to be affected by midday.
The following units are currently out of service: Unit 6 at the Mariel Power Plant (CTE Mariel). Unit 1 at the Santa Cruz Power Plant (CTE Santa Cruz), a unit at the Guiteras Power Plant (CTE Guiteras). Also Unit 2 at the Felton Power Plant (CTE Felton), and Unit 5 at the Renté Power Plant (CTE Renté). Unit 5 of the Mariel Power Plant, Unit 5 of the Nuevitas Power Plant, Unit 1 of the Felton Power Plant. And Unit 6 of the Renté Power Plant are currently undergoing maintenance.
Unit 3 of the Renté Power Plant is out of service. Due to the partial disconnection of the National Interconnected System (SEN).
The limit on thermal generation is 246 MW.
For the peak period, the following are expected: Unit 6 of the Mariel Power Plant (CTE Mariel) with 70 MW. Unit 1 of the Felton Power Plant (currently being started up), Unit 3 of the Renté Power Plant with 50 MW. And 6 engines from the Moa fuel site with 90 MW.
Based on this forecast, an availability of 1601 MW is estimated for the peak demand period, with a peak demand of 3220 MW. Resulting in a deficit of 1619 MW. Therefore, if the anticipated conditions persist, an outage of 1639 MW is projected during this period.
