The province of Holguin is preparing to begin restoring power to microsystems that provide vital services to the population. Following the partial disconnection of the National Electric System (SEN). From Ciego de Avila to Guantanamo, caused by a fault in a 110kV line at dawn on May 14th.
Eudi Calzadilla Peña, director of the Comprehensive Customer Service Center of the Electric Company in Holguin. Informed Radio Angulo that protocols are already underway. To restore service to the affected areas, initially prioritizing hospitals in the province.
Work is already underway in the main municipality to create the Holguin 220 kV microsystem. Which will power circuits 20, supplying electricity to the Vladimir Ilich Lenin Hospital and the electrical company’s load dispatch center, and 12. Also which protects the Pediatric, Clinical-Surgical, and Military Hospitals.
Moreover the plan is to later extend power from Nuevitas to Moa. Once this operation is completed. The circuits will be rotated according to the order of greatest impact. Taking into account the critical situation of current generation capacity.
According to a publication by Cubadebate, the National Electric Union (UNE) has already reported two advances in the process of restoring the National Electric System (SEN). At 9:19 a.m., the province of Camagüey was connected to the SEN. And Ciego de Avila was also connected, its connection having been completed minutes earlier, at 8:16 a.m.
In other news, the National Electric Union (UNE) reported that Unit 6 of the Diez de Octubre Power Plant (CTE Diez de Octubre), located in Camagüey province, is now back online. This will allow for the start-up process of this unit. Strengthening power generation and enabling the continued expansion of service to the rest of the country.
Also the provinces from Las Tunas to Guantanamo continue operating with microsystems. While progress is made on the full synchronization of the National Electric System (SEN).

Outages: Unit 6 of the Máximo Gómez Power Plant. Also units 1 and 2 of the Ernesto Guevara De La Serna Power Plant. Unit 2 of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Power Plant, and Unit 5 of the Antonio Maceo Power Plant.
Maintenance: Unit 1 of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Power Plant, unit 5 of the Mariel Power Plant, Unit 6 of the Renté Power Plant. Unit 5 of the Nuevitas Power Plant.
Unit 6 of the Nuevitas Power Plant. Unit 3 of the Renté Power Plant, and the Moa Fuel Oil Plant are out of service due to the partial outage of the National Electric System (SEN).
