In the city of Holguin, the areas surrounding the bustling Los Chinos agricultural market have become a hub of commercial activity. Generating pollution and public discontent.
The area around this market—designed primarily for the organized sale of agricultural products. It is now characterized by unsanitary conditions, high prices, and the proliferation of illegal activities.
Walking the streets surrounding the Los Chinos market is to confront a complex reality. A chaotic street-level commercial area with a significant impact on public order, the landscape, and environmental health.

Moreover the area is teeming with makeshift stalls, food sold without sanitary controls, accumulated garbage, and a sales dynamic. At first glance, seems to disregard established urban and commercial regulations.
However, for many street vendors outside the Los Chinos Market, selling there represents their main source of income.
But not everyone sees this location as a solution. Two daycare centers, two elementary schools, and a junior high school are located in this area. This situation has obviously generated complaints among parents and teachers of these schools.

The solution should not be its abrupt elimination, but rather its reorganization. One possible alternative would be the gradual relocation of vendors to new facilities already. Under construction in different parts of the city, thus guaranteeing sanitary conditions, legal oversight, and a safer environment for everyone.
