Mexican women writers to attend the First Oral Narration Encounter

The Oral Narration Company ,  will celebrate its 20th anniversary with the First Oral Narration Encounter, according to actor Yordanis Sera, president of the “Mayra Navarro” Honorary Chair.

Sera said that “the vanguard of oral storytelling in Cuba and the world will attend the event from April 9 to 15, 2024”.

The meeting will host performances in theaters, the Casa del Cuento, located on the grounds of the Loma de la Cruz, while reaching the communities of Holguin.

The storyteller emphasizes that “The World of Words” opens the diapason to the scenic artists of the country and other nations that have works where the narration is the main feature.

From Mexico, the renowned writers Sara Cepeda and Soco Uribe, teachers who have granted Palabras al Viento their copyrights for the productions of “Los músicos de Bremen” and “Wasi, el fantasma del piano”, respectively, have confirmed their presence.

Founded on April 14, 2004, the oral narration company Palabras al Viento is the result of the group “Pico de Oro” created by Holguin-born actress Norma Arencibia.

Fermín López Hernández, storyteller, actor, writer, is the founding director of Palabras Al Viento, with national and international recognition.

The company includes modern storytelling techniques and theatrical elements, which make it a paradigm in the largest of the Antilles.

The adaptation of literary works from Latin America stand out in its stagings, including texts by Spanish poet, playwright and prose writer Federico García Lorca.
