CONSYBA produces eco-friendly building materials

CONSYBA, a company in the municipality of Calixto García, in Holguin province, manufactures eco-modular bricks in which they replace more than 30 percent of the aggregates with recyclable materials such as glass, plastic and others, an environmentally friendly solution for the local production of building materials.

For this purpose, a press technology based on recyclable materials is used, which, in addition to the replacement of the aggregates recyclable materials, which, in addition to replacing the aggregates, uses open-air air-drying of the bricks, avoiding firing in kilns, which is a clean process as it does not emit gases into the atmosphere. which is a clean process, since it does not emit gases into the atmosphere.

Yoander Batista, owner of this medium-size company, says that through a visit to the Dominican Republic, he learned about this technology and contacted the supplier, acquiring this equipment, one of its kind in the country.

“It is environmentally friendly, Batista explains, because it allows, with an acceptable granulometry, the substitution of almost half of the aggregates in the premix for the manufacture of wall elements, whether bricks, paving stones or cobblestones, and the method of production of the same, since they are pressed and dried in the open air, they do not need to be fired in wood ovens”.

The machine, which uses non-biodegradable materials such as glass, plastics and other products , is capable of producing around 2,500 units in an eight-hour day, thus constituting an efficient and environmentally friendly way to produce local construction materials.

The value of these bricks that is around 14 pesos are destined for the local construction program in the municipality of Calixto García, Holguín province; they can be customized in a range of colors so as not to have in a range of colors so that they do not have to be painted afterwards.
