Maintenance at Felton Thermoelectric Power Plant underway

Workers of Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Power Plant and of the Base Business Unit for Maintenance of Power Plants, located in Felton, in the municipality of Mayarí, began this November 20 the planned light maintenance of Unit One, after 213 days of uninterrupted operation.

The work, scheduled to be completed within 13 days, has as its main objectives to restore the unit’s availability to 240 MW, reduce the boiler pressure to nominal parameters and increase the block’s reliability in general.

Key actions planned for the boiler include cleaning the convective shaft, flushing the Regenerative Air Heaters, and changing the burner nozzles and diffusers.

Work on the turbine will range from cleaning the condenser to repairing the feed and condensate pumps, along with changing the VC01 circulation pump bushings.

The welding area will focus on the replacement of three flanges and the replacement of the hydrazine and ammonia line, which are crucial for the efficient operation of the boiler.

In terms of electricity, the generator brushes will be overhauled and replaced, and the 1AT01 output transformer will be repaired.

In addition, work will be carried out in the automatic sector, including the lacquering of the control system cards.

This maintenance, planned with precision, seeks not only to optimize the performance of Unit One of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Plant, but also to guarantee its reliability in the long term.

The planned actions ensure that the infrastructure is in optimal conditions to continue providing a stable and efficient source of energy, especially during the closing and beginning of the year.
