In Cueto three pre-candidates to the 11th FMC Congress

The municipality of Cueto, in Holguín province, has three pre-candidates to the 11th Congress of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), among them, Haidée Magdariaga Ramírez, who comes from the peasant sector, Ariannis Zaldívar González, representing the National Revolutionary Police and María Julia Díaz Jardines, who works in the Municipal Government.

Talking to Radio Angulo, Díaz Jardines shared aspects of her work in the women’s organization, which support such election:

“I started a closer link with the FMC in 2016, when I became a teacher at the Women and Family Orientation House of Cueto. There I have conducted training courses for housewives and young people, which have made possible the fulfillment of one of the measurable indicators of the organization related to personal and professional improvement and the possibility of a labor link.”

She explained that the courses cover specialties such as the Executive Secretariat, File Management and Attention to the Population, all of which she designed and whose impact has been national, since they have been socialized at a national level.

This Cueto native, proud of being a pre-candidate to the highest appointment of the FMC members among Holguin peers, also contributed with cash contributions to the Municipal Assembly 11th FMC Congress, is a member of the Municipal Committee of the organization and was selected to integrate the Provincial Assembly on two occasions.

In addition, Diaz Jardines holds Cueto Coat of Arms (granted by the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power), as well as the “August 23” and “60th Anniversary” distinctions of the FMC and is inscribed in the honor book “Lucías de hoy”, which since 1997 has been collecting the names of Holguin women of relevant career.

The launching of the call for the 11th National Congress of the Federation of Cuban Women took place last April 6th, when its general secretary, Teresa Amarelle Boue, ratified the purpose of promoting the protagonism of women and updating strategies for the eradication of gender violence in all its expressions.
