The meeting of Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa with the workers of La Gloria mini-industry in the municipality of Calixto García, Holguín province, in the face of local development linked to the demands of the National Plan for Food Sovereignty and Nutritional Education, posed new challenges.

In view of the challenges related to the increase in production and the high demand for food, he added that they are also working on the contracting of raw materials and production chaining.
The production of new products with better invoice and quality, he pointed out, will create the basis for the insertion in the international market and the consequent income of foreign currency.
The mini-industries have a fundamental participation in the national food production in response to the new Cuban economic and social model.

The production of fruit pulps and preserved vegetables is also produced with the production chain with the Holguín company “Turquino” and contracts with suppliers from nearby agricultural cooperatives.
