During the scientific sessions, we dealt with topics mainly related to PHC operation, both at the level of clinics and polyclinic services. We also evaluated rurality, with emphasis on everything related to the functioning of primary health care in rural areas and the state plan Turquino Plan (for mountain people) and other elements where rehabilitation, stomatology and other areas belonging to primary health care are also incorporated”.

This great event, sponsored by the Cuban Society of Family Medicine, is the space where outstanding professionals of the specialty in the territory defend thematic lines such as maternal and child care, population aging, communicable diseases, the functioning of the different institutions that make up Primary Health Care, the training of human resources and the participation of Comprehensive General Practitioners in international medical collaborations.

Undoubtedly, this is a space for analysis and reflection on specific health issues, which deserve a better functioning, the opportunity to propose and evaluate programs, strategies and results obtained in the application of the program and in the current process of improvement through which it is passing.

In the province of Holguín, Primary Health Care is integrated by 1,155 Family Doctor and Nurse offices and 42 teaching polyclinics.
