With the participation of around one hundred foreign delegates, the XXIX edition of the Ibero-American Culture Festival starts today in Holguin and will last until October 30.
The present celebration, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of the founding of the House of Ibero-America and is dedicated to the centenary of the Cuban scientist Antonio Núñez Jiménez, as part of its initial program held this Monday the concert of the Holguin Symphonic Orchestra together with the Spanish singer Pilar Boyero, at the Eddy Suñol Theater.
Among its main activities is the 18th Ibero-American Congress of Thought that will have the inaugural conference in charge of Eloísa Carreras Varona, director of the Armando Hart Dávalos House Museum.
During this academic event, PhD. Armando Hart Dávalos will be awarded, post mortem, the Casa de Iberoamérica distinction for his contribution to the creation of the Fiesta de la Cultura Iberoamericana and Casa de Iberoamérica projects.
The extensive program also includes the usual parade through central arteries of the city, as well as the presentation of the National Poetry Award “Adelaida del Mármol” and the Iberoamerican Colloquium of Letters.
There will also be an exhibition of the Cuban entrepreneurial women’s project at the Provincial Art Center, the 13th Ibero-American Artisanal Wine Festival and the inauguration of the Iberian Cultural Center, which will host the presentation of the Rumba Catalana duo from Spain and the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the “Encuentro” ballet.
Held annually in the city of Holguin, the Ibero-American Culture Festival promotes the exchange among Latin American peoples and has an extensive program that includes concerts, audiovisual shows, exhibitions and conferences.
