Cacocum youths held 12th UJC Congress Assembly

The Young Communist League (UJC) in the municipality of Cacocum developed the XII Congress Municipal Assembly to reflect on the strengthening of the organization in that territory of the province of Holguin.

The meeting took place in the presence of Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC in Holguín, and Anier Asnedo Sánchez, member of the Bureau of the National Committee of the Young Communist League.

With the participation of 80 delegates and guests from other territories in the session, which is also a pilot experience, with a view to the Provincial Assembly, the internal life of the organization, challenges and strengths to improve its functioning were discussed.

One of the most significant analyses revolved around the need to make the activities and organic processes in Cacocum more attractive and thus stimulate natural entry into the ranks. In this sense, to strengthen the attention to student organizations and youth movements, as well as a more combative and dynamic action in social networks, are fundamental aspects.

The First Secretary of the PCC in the province was interested in the functioning of the different base committees and their link to the institutions to which they belong. He emphasized the importance of the activities in the enterprises and especially those linked to productive work, in the midst of the complex economic and food situation.

Santiesteban Velázquez also stressed the need to boost the economy and food production.

“The young people of Cacocum know that there was practically no harvest last season in the municipality … it is necessary to stimulate the sowing of cane, and to participate in the productive activities, said the maximum political leader, who called to look for formulas that motivate, summon so that the young people feel useful and to the companies to understand that the presence of the young people implies greater challenges…”

…he also called to do much more in the communities to the point of saying: “if the youth leads the battle the results will come sooner rather than later”.
