The call for the 30th edition of the Provincial Visual Arts Salon was announced this Wednesday at a press conference; the event that will take place from September 13 to 17 has a program dedicated to the 30 years of the prestigious event of Holguin‘s culture, which on this occasion will be titled Calendar 30. This event, which takes place every two years, summons all the creators of the province, since its creation in 1984 its main objective is to present the aesthetic proposals of Holguin’s artists, so that this space allows for the promotion, broadcasting and encouragement of local creation, diffusion and stimulus to the local creation.
The jury of the contest, which will be integrated by prestigious figures of the local and regional visual arts, will grant an only award, as well as the Union of Writers and Artsits of Cuba (Uneac), the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) and the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods (FCBC) in Holguin and the Caguayo Foundation of Santiago de Cuba, will be awarding collateral prizes.
The program of the Provincial Visual Arts Salon includes the exhibition of the works in competition, collateral exhibitions, workshops and theoretical spaces with book presentations, panels book presentations, panels, talks and lectures by renowned specialists and artists of the artistic renowned specialists and artists of the contemporary artistic-visual scene.

During the development of this XXX edition, the following awards will be presented Arenal Huerta Electa Distinction will be awarded to two consecrated creators of the local artistic local artistic scene: Roy González and Julio Breff.
