University of Holguin offers summer courses

As part of the extensionist work, during the months of July and August, professors of the University of Holguin will be giving more than 90 summer courses, directed to all the population, in the university headquarters and and other entities of the province.

Organized in dynamic workshops, with a maximum duration of four days, they will address cultural themes, political and ideological current affairs, care for and protection of the environment, the environment and the environment, as well as the importance of taking care of our health and exercising.

Through the Cátedra Universitaria del Adulto Mayor, seniors will have access to a specially designed set of courses about the this stage of life, the danzón and the attention they deserve from society, among other topics.

Upon the completion of each course, a certificate will be awarded to endorse the participation of all those involved.

Created for entertainment, enjoyment and learning, the realization of these summer courses conceived by the University of Holguin also aims at rescuing values and national identity, as well as to remember our history.

In Cuba, summer courses have been offered since the 1930s, standing out among the pioneers in their implementation professor and parasitologist Pedro Kourí Esmeja.

Since then, several universities on the Island use this educational resource as an alternative to complement the training of students and satisfy the most diverse the most diverse needs.
