Legal Worker’s Day is celebrated in Holguín

This June 8, the provincial act for the day of the legal worker took place in Holguín, a ceremony in which the work of the personnel of such an important sector for justice and institutions in the country was recognized.

The theater of the direction of transport in the capital city, was the headquarters of the event in which the most outstanding Holguin base delegations and jurists in emulation were recognized, and the place where Manuel Alberto Leyva Estupiñán, president of the Union of Jurists , received from the First Secretary of the Party, Ernesto Santiesteban, the certificate that recognizes Holguín as the Most Outstanding Province of the country, recognition to which was added being a creditor of the 84th Anniversary Plaque of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, CTC, to the sector .

Likewise, workers with more than 20 years of uninterrupted work in the sector, with an exemplary attitude and consistent with revolutionary principles, were recognized with the Enrique Hart Dávalos distinction, and the presidents of the most outstanding chapters at the provincial level were recognized.

The Nationally Distinguished Collectives were the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office and the Provincial Court, the Number One Collective Law Firm, the Báguanos Municipality Justice Department and the Property Registry.

Present at the meeting were Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee and First Secretary of the Party in the province, Yunia Pérez Hernández, deputy governor of Holguín, Idalmis Serrano Gómez, general secretary of the CTC in the territory, as well as directors of the bodies of justice and the Union of Jurists in Holguín.

At the end of the meeting, Ernesto Santiesteban, also a deputy to the Cuban parliament, thanked on behalf of the authorities of the territory, the work of the Holguin jurists in support of the country’s institutionality and legal culture, as well as their role in essential processes for development such as the Family Code.

On June 8, Cuba celebrates the day of the jurist in homage to the date on which the distinguished patriot Ignacio Agramonte defended his thesis to receive a degree in Civil and Canon Law from the University of Havana.
