Ibero-American Festival: A Showcase for the Talent of Young Artists from Holguin

The 32nd Ibero-American Culture Festival, which runs until October 30th, provides a stage for the talents of young art students. They are showcasing their skills across various venues at the festival. Which this year is dedicated to the theme of the “sphere.”

Hirio Vera Martínez, director of the Raúl Gómez García Elementary School of the Arts where approximately 300 children and adolescents study music, singing, and dance. He told the Cuban News Agency that the students’ participation serves as recognition of the sustained effort put into their pedagogical development.

The high level of both general and artistic preparation was evident from the opening gala. Which featured performances exclusively by students. Including four groups from the institution that delivered particularly impressive presentations.

A key factor in these achievements, the director noted, is the leadership style within this educational system. Which remains flexible and human-centered. The goal is to develop individuals who are not only competent in their specific artistic fields. But also possess strong personal integrity, enabling them to represent every work with dignity.

Moreover the director also highlighted the school’s strong ties with other local cultural institutions. Such as the Codanza Contemporary Dance Company and the Rodrigo Prats Lyric Theater. Which facilitate practical learning by giving students the opportunity to perform before audiences at various local venues and events.

Alongside the José María Ochoa Music Conservatory, the “El Alba” Regional Academy of Visual Arts, and the local branch of the University of the Arts. This diverse festival highlights local talent, celebrating the rich variety of Ibero-American cultures.
