Tourism workers and groups are recognized in Holguin

Within the framework of the celebration for the 31st anniversary of the founding of the National Union of Hotel and Tourism Workers (SNTHT). The exemplary career of workers in the sector with 20 and 25 years of service was recognized in Holguin, who were awarded the Elpidio Sosa distinction.

The activity was attended by José Ángel Expósito Toledo, secretary of the Provincial Union of Hotel and Tourism Workers in the province. Idalmis Serrano Gómez, general secretary of the CTC in the territory. Also who accompanied the honorees and ratified the commitment of the union movement to the quality of services and the well-being of the workers.

During the event, was highlighted the dedication of these men and women who have supported the vitality of the leisure industry in Holguin with their work. The Elpidio Sosa distinction is a tribute to the martyr of the sector and recognizes his uninterrupted permanence in a highly demanding activity.

Likewise, due to the results achieved during the year 2025, three entities in the territory received the status of National Efficient: Empresa Campismo Popular Holguin. The Emprestur Holguin Branch and the Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel.

Moreover the recognition of these entities is based on compliance with the main economic and union indicators. As well as on the quality of the services provided to the population and foreign visitors. In the particular case of the Gran Muthu Almirante Beach, located in the Guardalavaca resort. Also the group has maintained a stable performance that previously earned it the status of National Vanguard.

Likewise, a Special Recognition was granted to the Islazul Holguin Branch. A distinction that endorses the work of its workers in hotel and non-hotel management within the tourism system in the province.

 The day was also a space to ratify the sector’s commitment to excellence and the confrontation of material limitations. In a context where Holguin tourism stands as one of the most dynamic poles in the country.
