PNR in Holguin Tackles Criminal Activity

The National Revolutionary Police (PNR in the Spanish acronym) announced via its Facebook page the arrest of a citizen on the Holguin–Moa highway. He was transporting 29 million pesos in national currency without documentation or an explanation justifying its origin.

The incident took place in the Los Pinos local administrative district, where PNR officers intercepted a private vehicle and discovered the cash. The individual has been charged with illicit enrichment, and investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident, PNR officers returned a lost bag. It was containing money, gold, and personal documents, found at the Holguin railway terminal entirely intact.

Officers Yuan Herrera Frometa and Ladisleydis Simón William located the owner after initiating search protocols and returned 8,880 pesos, seven pesos in small change, a 20-euro bill, two gold chains, medication, and identification documents.

Also the owner expressed gratitude for the officers’ conduct. The officers emphasized that honesty is an essential principle of police work.
