The Yamarex Garments Basic Business Unit in Holguin is making progress in stabilizing its production processes. To complete the school uniforms for the 2026-2027 school year as quickly as possible. With more than 90 percent of the pieces for the initial grades—over 44,000 uniforms—already finished.
Kenia Santana Santiesteban, director of the entity, explained to the Cuban News Agency that the production delay was due to a lack of electricity in the workshops. An obstacle that was overcome by relocating equipment and personnel to other areas of the city.
Among the alternatives adopted are cooperative production with the Provincial Enterprise of Local Industries (Avil) in the Holguin municipality of Moa. Also with the workshop set up at the facilities of the Inejiro Asanuma Spinning Company (Gihilan) in Gibara. Which is responsible for producing garments for two municipalities in the province.
The director specified that, once the first stage of school uniform production is completed, they plan to begin producing uniforms for the remaining grades. Depending on the availability of the necessary raw materials.
Yamarex belongs to the Boga Textile Manufacturing Company and dedicates its production to social programs. Its main clients include the Ministries of Domestic Trade, the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Public Health, and other organizations.
